French Chartreuse Amina will take to the stage in the Uurkly Festivalen at Nasaker in Sweden. It is a music festival with a difference. All year round the town has a population of 500 inhabitants. For the next 3 days it will be transformed into a “Hippy Commune/Festival with over
Described by the organisers as
“As the ravens fly and darkness returns to the forests of northern Sweden, we re-light the fires that have been burning here for thousands of years. In the first weekend of August some eight thousand people gather in the small village of Näsåker, to enjoy music, dancing, poetry and love, in a beautiful landscape of forests, rivers and hills. Urkult is an eco-friendly, hippie-style world music festival that’s been around since 1995. You can choose to like our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter for more updates as we go.”

Amina represented France at Eurovision in 1991 and drew with Carola. However on old format of countback Carola from Sweden was declared the winner. The current rules of the contest now – Amina would have won as more countries had voted for her.’Le dernier qui a parlé’ is still a fan favourite!
