Latvia – Tonight saw the final of Dziesma 2014 aka The Latvian National Selection for Eurovision 2014. 12 songs competed in the final. After the Jury and Public Voting and the Super Final it was decided that Aarzemnieki will represent Latvia at Eurovision 2014 with the song “Cake To Bake”
Did Latvia make the right decision? Let us know.

Love it a lot.. LOL IT’s one of those funny gems you’d look back on for standing out in an NF, like the same composer’s “More Than 27”. But representing Latvia in ESC :O! Good golly! I love this choice lol. It’s genuinely happy and the way they’re having fun makes you have fun with them. Would’ve preferred Dons, but not complaining.
Well that makes just FIVE songs to knock out of SF1 now…
Even PeR were better than this! Did those words actually get typed?
It is a fun little ditty. It would seem there is a hippy/folk vibe surrounding Eurovision this year with Latvia, Malta and Switzerland.
Agreed Martin. I think this is being underestimated at the moment – but let’s wait until all the songs are selected before some of the fans bury their chances ;-)
Yes they did. It’s my joint favourite at the moment along with Macedonia.
Latvia picked a great and quirky song indeed Jason
Have Fr Ted and Dougal gone to Latviia? terrible!! ( of course knowing my lousy judgement it will do great)
LOL – don’t put yourself down like that Sean. Let us do it for you and take the strain out of your day ;-)
Oh Cake to Bake is a charming little ditty
“My Lovely Horse” was a classic compared to this – of course, I am talking about the Nin Huegen and the Huguenotes arrangement… lol
