IRELAND – We begin our video interviews with the artists in the Irish Eurovision National Final – Eurosong 2014. We like to call this “Facetime with Eurosong 2014”.  We had the pleasure of meeting Kasey Leeann Smith who will perform the song “Heartbeat” with Can-Linn on February 28th in the Eurosong Final on RTE1’s “Late Late Show” special. It will be at 21:35 (GMT) and our International Friends can watch on-line HERE

We also had the pleasure to speak with Kasey’s mentor Hazel Kaneswaran and discovered the inspiration behind the song “Heartbeat” and how the song evolved from its original concept now.

Many people will remember Kasey from Eurosong last year (despite me saying 2012) and the song “Kiss Me”. We talked about life after Eurosong, what she has been doing since her time in the band Wonderland and we made plans to revisit Riverdance as a “threesome”.

‘Heartbeat’ was co-written by an experienced team of Irish and Swedish songwriters:

•Hazel Kaneswaran — Irish singer/songwriter who sang for Dove in 1996 and has since presented numerous TV shows and performed around the country.
•Jonas Gladnikoff — wrote two successful Irish Eurovision entries including “It’s For You” by Niamh Kavanagh.
•Rasmus Palmgren — writer of the winning Swedish Idol song in 2013.
•Patrizia Helander — Swedish Idol 2007 finalist and experimental artist.

Make sure to vote for Can-Linn featuring Kasey Leeann Smith in our poll below if their song “Heartbeat” is your favourite.

Tell us what you think of the song “Heartbeat” – we think it is pretty Awesome!

You can follow Can-Linn on Facebook and Twitter and also Kasey Leeann Smith on Facebook and Twitter

  1. OMG by House I thought you meant your actual home lmao!

I love Kasey & her mentor :)! Her mentor really speaks well of Kasey! Great support. Kasey’s song is my favourite!

I also end up really loving Irish people after your interviews :P

It’s cool she gave details of how her performance is going to be set up. The dancers sound good :D

  2. This could have been something quite good, but it’s just so…meh. There’s no build, there’s no drama, there’s not much of anything really. Very disappointing.
