Are Eurovision performers getting younger? Well, we obviously have that minimum age for taking part in Big ESC. But are we seeing more teenagers?

It’s maybe not the case, although as we all age, it may feel that way. Today’s birthday boy Kyle Alessandro Helgesen Villalobos was a mere teenager when he took part in Basel. No doubt full of youthful enthusiasm, and that joie de vivre came across on stage. But opening the big Grand Final was perhaps a tall order, even for one who was definitely up for a good finish. His performance was perhaps overshadowed by the songs on third and fourth on that Saturday night. But he was popular with televoters.
