San Marino RTV, the San Marinese national broadcaster, may have leaked the host country for the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Following the San Marino Song Contest, Roberto Sergio, the Director General of San Marino RTV, CONFIRMED that the broadcaster had made a bid to host the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Roberto Sergio had the following to say:
“We have actually applied. San Marino has submitted its candidacy to the EBU, but unfortunately we will not be hosting the event because another country applied before us, so that country will be contacted first.”
Following his answer, the following statement was heard between an exchange from Roberto Sergio and the Head of Delegation, Denny Monetsi:
“France has given up, so we’ll go… I don’t remember where. To Montenegro? No, to North Macedonia. I shouldn’t have said it, but we’ve already said it.”
Neither the EBU, the European Broadcasting Union or MRT, the North Macedonian national broadcaster, have made a comment on the hosting of the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
