SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, have revealed the return of KAJ for the Melodifestivalen 2026 final – their national selection for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna.
In this year’s final, last year’s winner KAJ returns to the Melodifestivalen stage to perform a medley that celebrates Melodifestivalen’s most memorable trios. As all good things come in threes, they are joined on stage by Siw Malmkvist and EMD – for three times as much show, music and joy. Kevin Holmström, Axel Åhman and Jakob Norrgård make up the Finnish-Swedish entertainment group KAJ who took Melodifestivalen by storm in 2025. Their song “Bara bada bastu” not only won them the Melodifestivalen and a fourth place in the Eurovision Song Contest, but also created a phenomenon worldwide. A year later, they are back in Melodifestivalen to offer viewers triple joy and entertainment in the final.
KAJ had the following to say:
“It feels incredibly fun to be back in Melodifestivalen. Doing an interlude and paying tribute to trios through the ages suits us perfectly. We grew up with these songs so it will be an honour! In addition, we have phenomenal guest artists, the guys in EMD and the icon Siw Malmkvist. It will be sweaty and fun.”
Siw Malmkvist had the following to say:
“It’s really fun to be back on the Melodifestivalen stage. I’ve competed as part of a trio myself, so it feels extra fun to do a number that celebrates trios together with KAJ and EMD.”
EMD had the following to say:
“We know what it’s like to be three on stage, so doing this number felt obvious. Being able to reunite on the Melloscenen and at the same time pay tribute to other trios together with KAJ and Siw will be a lot of fun. There will be a lot of joy and a lot of nostalgia.”
