
RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, have revealed they are in talks with Benidorm in regards to Benidorm Fest Junior, a possible new selection process for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
This is not the first time the IDEA has been suggested, going back as far as December 2022. The Councillor for Events. in Benidorm, Jesús Carrobles, has connfirmed they are in talks with RTVE in regards to looking at ways to grow and expand Benidorm Fest – Benidorm Fest Junior been one of the proposals. Jesús Carrobles had the following to say:
“TVE is also keen; we’re taking the first steps to see if we can hold a pre-selection for Junior Eurovision.”
It is important to note that Spain has yet to confirm whether or not they will be participating in the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
