
Tonight the Danish Melodi Grand Prix, the contest to select who will represent Denmark at the 70th Anniversary Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria in May took place in Frederikshavn, Denmark . Eight acts competed for the honour of representing the Nordic nation , they were as follows :
- Sander Sanchez – “Two Spirits”
- Late Runner – “Can U Feel It?”
- Søren Torpegaard Lund – “Før vi går hjem” (Before we go home)
- Sissal – “Infinity”
- Emil Otto – “Copenhagen Noir”
- Myrkur – “Touch My Love And Die”
- Lasse Skriver – “Roaring Heart”
- Ericka Jane – “Death Of Me”
As in previous years , the contest started off with all eight acts performing, then following a round of voting , the top three acts went through to the Superfinal. They were :
Sissal-“Infinity “
Søren Torpegaard Lund “Før vi går hjem” (Before we go home)
Erika Jane -“Death of Me “
After another round of voting . Søren Torpegaard Lund was declared the winner and will therefore represent Denmark in Semi Final 2 , in the second half on 14th May.
Denmark have won the Eurovision Song contest on 3 occasions , in 1963 with Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann with their song “Dansevise ” , in 2000 with the Olsen Brothers and “Fly on the Wings of Love ” and in 2013 with Emmelie de Forest and “Only Teardrops” . Can Søren bring a 4th victory for Denmark this year ?
