
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s February 12th:
Saturday 12th February 1972
On this day in 1972, the 13th edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. Family Four took victory with “Härliga sommardag” and 24 points. At the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest in Edinburgh, Family Four finished 13th, with 75 points.
