#STORYOFMYLIFE – Day Two with Richard from EI

In this series, we’ll be talking to someone and asking them to pick five songs (over five days) that mean something to them. These may not be their top five songs of all time – merely songs that attach to a specific memory or time in their life.

We continue this series with Richard from Eurovision Ireland. What’s his second choice, and what’s the story behind it?

A Friend in London – New tomorrow

After getting a couple of Eurovision Song Contests under my belt, the world of National Finals opened up. Originally booking the final of Melodifestivalen 2011 as a birthday treat to myself the previous October, I found that my schedule could also fit in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2011, just two weeks earlier. Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2011 was a great National Final for a first timer. I remember those manning the merchandise stall been shocked that I purchased the CD before I’d seen the songs during the show. A Friend in London won the right to represent Denmark in Dusseldorf, with New Tomorrow. They finished in 5th place overall.

If you have five songs that really mean something to you, drop us a line with them and the stories behind them, and you could feature soon.
