Sri Lanka are likely to host the 2026 ABU Song Festival, following the ABU General Assembly was awarded to the country. Since 2012, the ABU (TV) Song Festival has been held in the same host city as the ABU General Assembly. The ABU General Assembly is due to be held in Colombo, which previously hosted the ABU Radio Song Festival 2014.

Should Sri Lanka take on the hosting duties for the Festival, it is likely that MTV will be the host broadcaster. Sri Lanka have previously taken part in 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2023.
