
SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, has revealed the record number of song submissions for Melodifestivalen 2026 – their national selection for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna.
SVT have revealed that they have received a record number 3,888 song submissions ahead of Melodifestivalen 2026 – significantly up from 2023, when 2,824 song submissions were made. Over the last six years, the following number of song submissions have been made:
- 2026 – 3,888
- 2025 – 2,794
- 2024 – 2,624
- 2023 – 2,824
- 2022 – 2,530
- 2021 – 2,747
