Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, have confirmed their non-participation at the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Finland has not shown a clear interest in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since the first edition in 2003, when it was one of the non-participating countries to broadcast the first Contest. Finland last investigated participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in 2023. Yle, had the following to say:
“Yle will not participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This is due both to the relatively high costs and the competition’s value, which does not fully align with our understanding of the participation of children under 16 in singing competitions.”
