
RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster, have released the rules for Montesong 2025 – their national selection for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna.
RTCG have released the rules for Montesong 2025, however a formal call for song submissions have yet to be announced. The date for Montesong 2025 have also yet to be revealed. The rules of Montesong 2025 are:
- Songs must not have been performed or published before September 1st
- Songs must meet the existing rules of the Eurovision Song Contest
- Performers must be citizens of Montenegro
- Songwriters may be from any nation
- Songwriters may submit up to two songs for the selection
Between 12 and 16 songs will compete at Montesong 2025. Within 10 days of the song submission period closing, a committee formed of music creators and performers will select the competing entries. The committee will score the song submissions out of 100. This will comprise of:
- Composition – up to 50 points
- Lyrics – up to 30 points
- Production potential – up to 20 points
Songs need to score a minimum of 75 points from the committee to receive a place in Montesong 2025. The winner of Montesong 2025 will be determined by a combination of expert jury and SMS voting.
