The 10th edition of the Qilaut Song Contest has taken place and the winner has been announced. The Qialut Song Contest is held annually and celebrates Inuktut musicians and perfromers and the Inuktut language.
Tooma Laisa was victorious with her entry “Attananngittumi” and has received $5,000. The ten competing songs will be released later in the year, with the top three set to perform at concerts across Nunavut. The Qilaut Song Contest is not part of Nunavut’s selection for the Pan-ArcticVision Contest.
