ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster, have revealed the possibility of a national selection, for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.

A spokesperson from ORF, has told Kleine Zeitung, an Austrian newspaper, that “the selection of our representative for 2026 will not be a secret decision”. ORF is examining ways in which to embed the Song Contest into its programming next year – therefore a possible televised national selection, for the first time since 2016.

Due to the proposed Song Contest programming, Große Chance der Blasmusik, a classical music programme, will be delayed. As well as the proposed national selection, additional entertainment shows, documentaries and news coverage is planned.
