
This year at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel, we will be looking back at Switzerland since their first participation. Today we begin with 1979.
1979 – “Trödler und Co.”
In 1979, when the Contest was held in Jerusalem, Israel, Peter, Sue & Marc, Pfuri, Gorps and Kniri represented Switzerland with “Trödler und Co.”. Peter, Sue & Marc, Pfuri, Gorps and Kniri finished in 10th place and 60 points.
1980 – “Cinéma”
In 1980, when the Contest was held in The Hague, the Netherlands, Paola represented Switzerland with “Cinéma”. Paola finished in 4th place and 104 points.
1981 – “Io senza te”
In 1981, when the Contest was held in Dublin, Ireland, Peter, Sue & Marc represented Switzerland with “Io senza te”. Peter, Sue & Marc finished in 4th place and 121 points.
1982 – “Amour on t’aime”
In 1982, when the Contest was held in Harrogate, the United Kingdom, Arlette Zola represented Switzerland with “Amour on t’aime”. Arlette finished in 3rd place and 97 points.
1983 – “Io così non ci sto”
In 1983, when the Contest was held in Munich, Germany, Mariella Farré represented Switzerland with “Io così non ci sto”. Mariella finished in 15th place and 28 points.
1984 – “Welche Farbe hat der Sonnenschein”
In 1984, when the Contest was held in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, Rainy Day represented Switzerland with “Welche Farbe hat der Sonnenschein”. Rainy Day finished in 16th place and 30 points.
