This year at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel, we will be looking back at Switzerland since their first participation. Today we begin with 1956.

1956 – “Refrain”

In 2056, when the Contest was held in Lugano, Switzerland, Lys Assia represented Switzerland with “Refrain”. Lys finished in 1st place and an undisclosed number of points.

1956 – “Das alte Karussell”

In 1956, when the Contest was held in Lugano, Switzerland, Lys Assia represented Switzerland with “Das alte Karussell”. Lys finished in an undisclosed place and an undisclosed number of points.

1957 – “L’enfant que j’étais”

In 1957, when the Contest was held in Frankfurt, Germany, Lys Assia represented Switzerland with “L’enfant que j’étais”. Lys finished in 8th place and 5 points.

1958 – “Giorgio”

In 1958, when the Contest was held in Hilversum, the Netherlands, Lys Assia represented Switzerland with “Giorgio”. Lys finished in 2nd place and 24 points.

1959 – “Irgendwoher”

In 1959, when the Contest was held in Cannes, France, Christa Williams represented Switzerland with “Irgendwoher”. Christa finished in 4th place and 14 points.

1960 – “Cielo e terra”

In 1960, when the Contest was held in London, the United Kingdom, Anita Traversi represented Switzerland with “Cielo e terra”. Anita finished in 8th place and 5 points.
