Back in 2023, during the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, Martin Österdahl, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, all but declared the project was over.

Insight Productions have confirmed to Deadline, an American news site, that work on Eurovision Canada is continuing. The original plan was to have a Contest between the ten provinces and three territories of Canada. Voxovation hold the rights to the Eurovision Song Contest outside of Europe.
