
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s May 7th:
Saturday 7th May 1977
On this day in 1977, the 22nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in London, the United Kingdom. Sweden returned to the Contest, while Yugoslavia withdrew. France took victory with Marie Myriam performing “L’Oiseau et l’Enfant” and 136 points.
