
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s May 6th:
Saturday 6th May 1989
On this day in 1989, the 34th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Lausanne, Switzerland. Cyprus returned to the Contest. Yugoslavia took victory with Riva performing “Rock Me” and 137 points.
