
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s April 6th:
Saturday 6th April 1974
On this day in 1974, the 19th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Brighton, the United Kingdom. Greece debuted, while France withdrew from the Contest. Sweden took victory with ABBA performing “Waterloo” and 24 points.
Saturday 6th April 1968
On this day in 1968, the 13th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in London, the United Kingdom. Spain took victory with Massiel performing “La La La” and 29 points.
