Melodifestivalen 2025 continues tonight and we are back with our weekly #LiveBlog – continuing with Heat 5 this evening. The next set of six acts take to the stage in Jönköping, with one progressing to the flash vote at the end of the show and two to the Grand Final after tonight.

So join me, Richard, from 19:00 GMT/20:00 CET, as we discover who will progress in Sweden. You know what to do by now, refresh regularly to see what we have to say in our #LiveBlog.

Refresh here from 19:00 GMT/20:00 CET

Nu kör vi!!!

The Moniker welcome us to Jönköping. Edvin, one of our hosts is on stage performing “Las Jönköping”, a take of the 2005 Swedish entry “Las Vegas”. Keyyo comes on stage performing a Jönköping take on “Piccadilly Circus”.

It’s time to meet tonight’s artists. The voting details for those using the app or a phone are announced.

Arvingarna – “Ring baby ring” (Call baby call)

The postcards feature each artist been interviewed by Niklas. Arvingarna start the performance stood on steps. They are joined by four backing dancers – all four are dressed in royal blue/cyan. The sound is very much from what we’ve heard from Arvingarna before. It’s fun, uptempo and will appeal to all. I hope this gets its chance in Stockholm next weekend.

Arwin – “This Dream of Mine

Arwin is our first debutant tonight. Arwin starts his performance sat on the floor, in near enough dark. He soon rises to stand in a lit-up cube. He is in a white long sleeved to and slate grey trousers. He is raised up from the stage near the end. Good for a debutant – I think Theoz is a good comparison.

Saga Ludvigsson – “Hate You So Much

Saga Ludvigsson is our next debutant. Well this is a nice uptempo country number. Saga is joined by four backing dancers. “Hate You So Much” is a good foot stomper, but I do question whether it actually gets going. Saga has a good vocal range and has won the crowd over.

Victoria Silvstedt – “Love It!

The next debutant is Victoria Silvstedt. Victoria starts “Love It!” with the wind machine in a box – think Eric Saade and “Popular”. The voice is slightly monotone in places and when there is range, it isn’t as good as others. Victoria is joined by four backing dancers. I feel like (& I could be wrong) “Love It!” would’ve fitted in Eurovision around 20 years ago.

Vilhelm Buchaus – “I’m Yours

Our final debutant tonight. Vilhelm is sat at a microphone playing the guitar at the start. We have storytelling it feels with “I’m Yours”. The camera is following Vilhelm around the stage set, so we aren’t having multiple shots, which is clever. Vilhelm has not only a good vocal range, but can express emotion too.

Scarlet – “Sweet n’ Pyscho

Scarlet are back for a second year after making their debut in 2024. If you are scared easily, this isn’t the one for you. This is a dark performance. Scarlet are joined by five backing dancers. While the versus’ are mainly spoken, the chorus has more of a tune. Scarlet will have their fans, I’m not sure personally – however the crowd love them.

It’s time for a voting recap. The first vote has closed. Keyyo is back with another “Mellohunk” sketch – this time with Martinus.

Edvin is in the Green Room. Keyyo treats us to a song – think 1930’s flapper era. Keyyo is finally joined by Fame, to perform “Give Me Your Love”.

The first act through to the Final is Saga Ludvigsson, with his entry “Hate You So Much“. The reprise is taking place.

The voting reprise starts again for the second voting phase. Hans Marklund is inducted into the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame for his iconic medley in 2000.

We now have a performance from Ronny & Ragge – two fictitious raggare characters. Edvin takes a look through the archives.

RESULTS! The second finalist is Scarlet, while the artist through to the flash vote (following this reveal) is Arwin.

It’s time for Finalkval! The automatic finalist from the five artists is Dolly Style, with “YIHAA”. It’s time to vote from the final four – but you haven’t got long! Keyyo talks to each of the artists.

Voting has CLOSED! We have a recap of the finalists so far. The final finalist is Meira Omar, with “Hush Hush“.
