Refresh here from 19:00 GMT/20:00 CET

Nu kör vi!!!

The show starts with a quick word with Edvin & Keyyo, before the opening number. Edvin & Keyyo start a rendition of “Busy Doin’ Nothin'” before been joined on stage by Ace Wilder. An amazing comeback by Ace, after only giving birth eight weeks ago.

We now meet tonight’s line-up. Voting details for the app and telephone numbers are revealed.

Andreas Lundstedt – “Vicious

Nanne is back for this week’s postcards – in the style of Carpool Karaoke. Known for Alcazar, Andreas is back for a second solo attempt at representing Sweden. “Vicious” has the vibe of early Alcazar. A lot of black and red lighting is in use. Andreas is joined by six backing dancers on-stage. Had Alcazar performed this, I could see it as a qualifier. However as a solo number, I’m not as convinced – even if the crowd is going wild.

Ella Tiritello – “Bara du är där” (Only you are there)

Time for debutant Ella. “Bara du är där” is the first of tonight’s native language entries. While slow to get going during the first thirty seconds, it does move eventually. The chorus of “Bara du är där” is the only aspect of this song that has something about it – very quiet & on the lines of monotone otherwise. I can’t see this troubling the line-up for Stockholm.

Tennessee Tears – “Yours

Tennessee Tears are back for another attempt at Melodifestivalen. “Yours” is a upbeat, country foot-stomper. Plenty of gold lighting is used throughout and some country dancing of sorts. The interaction with the audience is clear. Both the audience and Tennessee Tears are clearly enjoying themselves. I’d have this qualified for the final directly tonight.

Kaj – “Bara bada bastu” (Just take a sauna)

Kaj are from Finland. Kaj appear suited and booted, but the look doesn’t go along with the vibe of the song. I get the impression there is some sort of comedic element with this performance. The stage set-up is very busy, with a sauna and surrounding foliage. The audience love the performance, I really don’t know how Kaj will do.

AmenA – “Do Good Be Better

AmenA is dressed in quite a spectacular burgundy number. Within the first ten seconds or so, I can see a song of story telling is been performed here. It’s such a shame AmenA’s voice lacks range. I can see something anthemic behind this – please let me be pleasantly surprised during the results.

Måns Zelmerlöw – “Revolution

King Måns is back, fighting for a second victory at both Melodifestivalen & Eurovision. It begins very darkly lit. Ok, its very Måns from what we’ve seen before. Hints of the “Heroes” performance and tune is what I am viewing – just like in 2015. Måns knows how do deliver & “Revolution” will make the Melodifestivalen final, but it will face a very strong line-up.

It’s time for a voting recap.

The green room has turned into a bit of a piano room – a medley with the artists. Edvin takes a look through the archives.

The first act through to the Final is Måns Zelmerlöw, with his entry “Revolution”. The reprise is taking place.

Edvin’s ‘Mum’ explains voting via the app. The voting reprise starts again for the second voting phase. Keyyo is chatting to Måns.

Voting has closed. Hasse Andersson takes to the stage, surrounded by children providing sign language. Hasse is this week’s inductee to the ‘Hall of Fame’ for “Guld och gröna skogar (2015)”.

Keyyo is back with another “Mellohunk” sketch – this time with Martin Stenmarck.

RESULTS! The second finalist is Kaj, while the artist through to the flash vote at the end of the fifth heat is Ella Tiritello.
