There are false flaggers and there are false flaggers. Those that clearly come from a different place from the one they represent. And those that are only just representing a different country. That is, they may as well be from the country they sing for.

During the Malmö circus last year, the home entrants were actually Norwegian. They were today’s birthday boys Jedward and Jedwardus Marcus and Martinus Gunnarsen. They’d been knocking around Norwegian and Swedish Eurovision-related shows for a few years, so maybe it was only a matter of time before they got the gig from one of those countries. So they became the home entry and got the earliest draw possible. And came ninth. Was that a fair result?
