SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, have revealed the first inductee of the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame, during Heat Two, on Saturday 8th February, in Gothenburg.
Style are the first inductee into the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame this year. In 1986, a fair-haired, confident trio took Sweden by storm when they sang about a passionate meeting on a ferry across the English Channel. Gigi, Tommy and Christer were from the successful group Style and with the super ballad “Dover-Calais” they moved modern pop into Melodifestivalen. Style finished 3rd in 1986 with “Dover-Calais” (which you can watch below), before returning to the Contest again in 1987.
