🇨🇭 #ESC25: Public Projects Revealed

SRG SSR, the Swiss national broadcaster, have revealed the public projects they have organised, as part of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel.

University Students

It has been revealed that students of the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons FHGR will be involved in developing creative concepts for the City Handover including the Semi-Final Allocation Draw plus the Turquoise Carpet and the Opening Ceremony. Students will be creatively involved in live productions, preparatory work and post-production.

Students of journalism, communication and audiovisual storytelling of the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW will create content for both the host broadcaster SRG SSR and the EBU social media channels.

School Students

Students throughout Switzerland can participate in the project “Songwriting in Schools – Create Your Own Song”. They are expected to get sights into songwriting, music production, and performing. The participating classes perform their song on Barfüsserplatz in Basel on 15 May 2025.

Secondary school students in Switzerland can also participate in the Video Song Contest. School classes and bands are invited to submit their song and performance to the contest. The five winning classes which will be decided via a combination of public voting and jury voting can perform their ESC song on the stage at Barfüsserplatz in Basel during the Eurovision week.

Other Residents

Pro Senectute is also planning a strictly Over-60s Party for up to 1,000 people in Basel. Their aim is to provide a platform to people aged over 60 to socialise and to celebrate the contest together.
