The Semi Final Allocation draw to find out which semi final each country will perform in at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 , has just taken place in Basel, Switzerland. The draw was hosted by Jan Van Ditzhuisen and Jennifer Bosshard .

During the ceremony , the Host City Insignia Ceremony also took place, where the President of the governing council of Malmö, last year’s host city officially handed hosting duties to the President of governing council of Basel .This year instead of the Insignia key, Malmö’s gift to Basel was a coat designed by Nemo’s designers, which Nemo wore at the carpet ceremony in Malmö last year , with the words “To Basel from Malmö, with love “, with a verbal message stressing the importance of human rights and diversity . Then a handshake , officially handing over hosting duties to Basel

A separate draw also took place, where the Big Five countries, France, Germany , UK , Spain and Italy , plus this year’s host country, Switzerland, found out which semi final they will vote in and also give a live performance in . The result was as follows :

The main part of the ceremony , the semi final allocation draw took place, with each country also finding out which half of their allocated semi final they will perform in .The table below shows the draw outcome .
