
RÚV, the Icelandic national broadcaster, have the dates and format for Söngvakeppnin 2025 – their national selection for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel.
RÚV have revealed the dates for Söngvakeppnin 2025. The Semi Finals will take place on February 8th & 15th, while the Grand Final will take place on February 22nd. Five songs will take place in each Semi Final, with three songs progressing from each to the Grand Final. Six songs will take place in the Grand Final, with the winner decided by 50% international juries & 50% public voting.
Following the adoption of international juries, Rúnar Freyr, Head of Delegation for Iceland, had the following to say:
“We are very excited to adopt the Swedish way with this new format and believe that it will be an even more exciting competition.”
