
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s December 21st:
Saturday 21st December 2013
On this day in 2013, the 1st edition of the Turkvision Song Contest took place in Eskişehir, Turkey. Altai Republic, Azerbaijan, Bashkortostan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Crimea, Gagauzia, Georgia, Iraq, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kemerovo, Khakassia, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, Northern Cyprus, Romania, Tatarstan, Turkey, Tuva, Ukraine, Uzbekistan & Yakutia debuted. Azerbaijan took victory with Farid Hasanov performing “Yaşa” and 210 points.
