ERR, the Estonian national broadcaster, have confirmed their non-participation at the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
ERR have revealed a cut of €2,000,000 in operating costs, due to a reduction in financial support from the Estonian government. Therefore entertainment programming will be reduced across all ERR channels – the reason for a one-show Eesti Laul in 2025 and a withdrawal from the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
ERR had the following to say on their website:
“In 2025, the share of entertainment content on ERR channels will decrease. In order to save money, there will be no semi-finals in Eesti Laul 2025 and only a final concert will be held. In addition, both ETV and ETV+ will reduce the production of entertainment programs. There will be no participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2025.”
