RTK, the Kosovan nation broadcaster, broadcast the 2024 edition of Festivali i Këngës në RTK over the weekend. The Kosovar Government is still hopeful of a debut at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Ongoing support for a Contest debut is still been expressed from within RTK and the Kosovar Government. The EBU, the European Broadcasting Union, have informed RTK that they need to apply to become a full member before they are eligible to compete in the Contest. Hajrulla Çeku, the Minister of Culture, had the following to say:
“I believe that with the second edition we have already given clear evidence that we are ready in terms of organisation, quality and others. Only procedural aspects remain for the issue of membership and representation in Eurovision.”
