It is two weeks since SRG SSR, the Swiss national broadcaster won the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmö, however host city interest has already begun for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.
Lausanne, the host city of the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest, have announced that they will not be entering the host city bid for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. Grégoire Junod, Mayor of Lausanne, had the following to say:
“The only place that could be suitable in terms of gauge would be the Vaudoise Arena, but we are already at the limit of what is required in terms of capacity. We also do not have the additional premises which are required, in particular to accommodate the media centre.
The main obstacle is the calendar. The venue must be available several weeks before the start of the event and this is not possible due to the hockey season.”
