SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, has confirmed that they will not be participating at the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Madrid.

Sweden have participated at the Contest eleven times, however they have not participated since 2014. With the forthcoming launch of HELLO MELLO, it was expected that there would be a Swedish return to the Contest. SVT have not stated this year why they are not participating at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Madeleine Sinding-Larsen, from SVT’s Communication department, had the following to say:

“SVT and Sweden will not participate in the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid.”
