LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster, have confirmed that they will not be participating at the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Madrid.
Lithuania have participated at the Contest four times, however they have not participated since 2011. LRT returned to broadcasting the Contest last year, something they will repeat again this year. A final decision on participation in 2025 will take place after the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Madrid. Mantas Velykis, from LRT’s Marketing department, had the following to say:
“Junior Eurovision is an interesting competition for the Lithuanian public. That’s why we broadcast it again last year.
This year our plan does not change: we continue to think only about the transmission. After the contest in Madrid we will analyse the public response and make further decisions.”
