The EBU, the European Broadcasting Union, have announced that the Belarusian national broadcaster BTRC, has been suspended indefinitely from all EBU events and services.

The suspension that BTRC is serving, was originally going to be lifted in July this year. The indefinite suspension comes following ongoing concerns about BTRC’s role as a vehicle for state propaganda. The EBU gave the following statement:

“There is no reason for us to change our position at the current time.”
