🇫🇮 #JESC24: Finland Confirm Non-Participation

Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, have revealed that they will not be participating at the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Markku Mastomäki, Yle’s Head of Children’s programmes, had the following to say:

“I am sorry to say that we will not participate in Junior Eurovision 2024. The reason, at this moment, is above all economic. We will consider the situation again in the future.”

Maisa Hyrkkänen, Yle’s Chief Finance Officer, had the following to say:

“The overall increase in costs can be seen in Yle’s utility purchases, energy costs and other expenses.”
