Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we celebrated the countries that participated in this year’s Contest, in Rotterdam. We are now remembering the countries that had previously participated in the Contest – today we remember Monaco.
Monaco debuted at the Contest in 1959, in Cannes, France. Jacques Pills finished in eleventh and last place, with his entry “Mon ami Pierrot”, scoring 1 point.
The most successful entry from Monaco was in 1971, when the Contest took place in Dublin, Ireland, Séverine finished in first place, with her entry “Un banc, un arbre, une rue”, scoring 128 points.
The most recent Monaco entry was in 2006, when the Contest took place in Athens, Greece. Séverine Ferrer finished in twenty first place in the semi final, with her entry “La Coco-Dance”, scoring 14 points.
Join us tomorrow, as we remember Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest. Let us know what you think about the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest – either in the comments below or on our FACEBOOK and TWITTER pages.
