
Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that are participating this year in Rotterdam. Today, we celebrate Moldova.
Moldova debuted at the Contest in 2005, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Zdob și Zdub finished in sixth place in, with their entry “Boonika bate doba”, scoring 148 points.
The most successful entry from Moldova was in 2017, when the Contest took place in Kyiv, Ukraine, SunStroke Project finished in third place with her entry “Hey, Mamma!”, scoring 374 points. This also included five sets of televote twelve points from Australia, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Ukraine.
The most recent Moldovan entry was due to be in 2020, when the cancelled Contest was due to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Natalia Gordienko was due to represent Moldova with her entry “Prison”.
This year, Moldova will be represented by Natalia Gordienko with her song “Sugar”. Will Natalia Gordienko take Moldova to their first victory?
