A total of 2747 submissions have been made for Melodifestivalen 2021 – 202 submissions more than 2020. Out of those 2747, 27 entries will join Julia Alfrida in the final line-up.

Karin Gunnarsson, the Melodifestivalen Contest Producer had the following to say:

“It is incredibly fun to see an increase in submissions as it shows a great interest in the competition. As a competition producer, I feel like I have the world’s largest musical candy bag to dive into, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do in the next few days.”
