The 2021 edition of UMK will take place next February. Acts will be revealed next January. The winner will be chosen by a jury/televote combination.

Rules are available on the YLE website. The song submission period will take place between Tuesday 1st September and Monday 7th September. Singers can submit up to three songs each.
