Over the last week or so, Eurovision fans from across the continent have been voting in the official Eurovision App to decide who they want to represent the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam.
Though we’re due to find out the results of this vote on Monday 3rd of February, when ČT will officially announce their song for the contest, we here at Eurovision Ireland wondered if there was a way to pre-empt this result? And that took us to YouTube!
Can the views on Czech Eurovision hopefuls’ songs give us an idea of what to expect on Monday? We’ve took a look at the number of viewers on each artists’ video as they stood at 15:00 GMT/16:00 CET on Saturday 1st February. Let’s see which songs have been pulling in the viewers, and perhaps the votes!
- Dark Water – Olga Lounová – 651,413
- Kemama – Benny Cristo – 319,701
- Wanna Be Like – Elis Mraz feat. Čis T – 161,276
- All The Blood (Positive Song Actually) – We All Poop – 86,808
- At Least We’ve Tried – Karelll – 40,628
- Get Up – Pam Rabbit – 39,616
- White And Black Holes – Barbora Mochowa – 37,446
So from these results, it would seem Dark Water by Olga Lounová is the decisive favourite, with over double the views of runner up Benny Cristo’s Kemama. Could this mean that Dark Water is heading to Rotterdam?
Of course, this is all speculative and we don’t know one way or another how the vote looks – so guess we’ll have to wait till Monday to find out for sure!
What do you think? How is your favourite fairing on YouTube? Don’t forget to vote in Eurovision Ireland’s Czech Republic POLL to see who our readers think will be singing at Eurovision 2020!
