#SMR: Ten Years Of San Marino – Part 2/3

This year, San Marino will be entering the Eurovision Song Contest for the tenth time. Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are going to have a look at their brief history in the Contest – today we’re looking back at 2013 – 2015.

2013 was San Marino’s fourth year at the Contest and Valentina Monetta’s second consecutive entry. Valentina performed “Crisalide” – San Marino’s second and to-date last Italian entry in the Contest. In the second semi final, Valentina finished in 11th place, with 47 points.

2014 was the last in Valentina’s run of consecutive entries. And Copenhagen was the year for both Valentina Monetta and San Marino – qualification to the final! Valentina finished in 24th place and 14 points – ahead of Slovenia and France respectively.

In 2015, San Marino were represented by two Junior Eurovision alumni. Michele Perniola (2013) and Anita Simoncini (2014) took on the task of representing the nation with their entry “Chain Of Lights”. They failed to qualify, finishing in 16th place, with 11 points, in the second semi final.
