Israel – Mei Finegold has been selected internally to represent Israel at Eurovision 2014. It appears that there will be a National Final to select the song that Finegold will sing in Copenhagen. Want to get to know her better?
She is a 31-year-old singer who rose to fame in Israel in 2009 where she came third in the show “Kokhav Nolad” – the Israeli version of American Idol. Mei leads a band called Disiac. The band contributed to the album “Hebrew Labor”, a special CD containing covers to old Israeli songs.
Finegold is a singer with an edge to her as some of her performances show.
In this clip we get the feeling she reminds us of French Eurovision singer Amandine Bourgeois – what do you think?
Yet she has a softer side too.

It looks like we could be in for some pop/rock from Israel at Eurovision 2014. A national final to select Finegold’s song for Eurovision is expected in March. We will bring you more details.
IBA hope that Mei Finegold can revert Israel’s recent performance at Eurovision when the last time they qualified for the Grand Final was back in 2010.
