Herciana Matmuja will represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song “Zemërimi i një nate” or “One night’s anger”.
The Grand Final of the Festivali i Këngës 52 took place last night in Tirana. Herciana was the clear winner of the contest and will now represent Albania in Copenhagen next year.
This is Herciana’s 5th attempt to win the prestigious Festivali i Këngës and represent Albania at Eurovision.
A soft lilting ballad that reminds one of Slovakia from 1998 meets a James Bond theme song.

Well, I happen to like Albania 14 very much. It is an intriguing song, impeccably performed by Hersi, whereas Ukraine 14 is just another bimbo-like singer accompanied by male dancers who flex their muscled while on stage. The song itself could be worse, but those lyrics are ludicrous. If that is what you call polished, give me unpolished stuff anytime.
P.S. – Happy new year! :)
LOL
Muscles/Flex/Stage – We Love but we also Love a well crafted song too ;-)
Happy New Year to you too Shevek
What country are you most looking forward to hearing from?
Estonia and its very own Eesti Laul.
We are looking forward to Eesti Laul this year too Shevek
I love this song ! It sounds quite unusual, but Albanese songs sound quite always unusual at first listening, don’t they ? That’s what make me expect each time gladly the results of their festival for Eurovision.
Very true Franck. Rona in 2012 is a classic example of where it took me seeing it live in Baku before I appreciated it. Let’s hope this will be the same case. They firstly have to edit the song by almost 30 seconds as it is well over the 3 minutes allowed. That may help too
I think that the Albanian jurors got it right (as quickly as 90 year olds can) in the end – at the moment I would say that ‘One Night’s Anger’ was better but ‘Tick Tock’ will be far better polished and look slick on the Copenhagen stage. Ukraine are guaranteed another top 10 finish, whereas Albania should get to the Final but end up near the bottom…
Well we are loving “Tick Tock” and agree that it will look amazing on stage in Copenhagen.
Albania is so amazing this year!
Really Jake? What is it about the song that you like? I think Herciana is very engaging on camera which always helps a song
