Bosnia and Herzegovina set to koin Turkvision? Photograph Courtesy of http://www.123rf.com
“Bosnia and Herzegovina has decided not to participate in the Eurovision song contest, and to join newly founded alternative Turkvision”.
This is the claim made yesterday by the Bulgarian News Agency Novinite and Serbian Website Novi Magazin. The move from Eurovision to Turkvision is allegedly “motivated by what Bosnia’s TV organizers have deemed too high costs for taking part in Eurovision” according to Novi Magazin.
Turkvision (Turkvizyon) as we reported earlier, has been created by the Turkish national Broadcaster TRT and was officially launched recently (read here) . TRT have created Turkvision to foster relations with the Turkish community outside of the country. TRT have also expressed their concerns and the current voting system and the automatic qualification of the Big 5 to the Eurovision Grand Final.
If the claims from the Bulgarian and Serbian sources are correct (which would surprise us) – might this see other cash conscious broadcasters make the change to “Turkvision”?
More information to follow as it is released.
