Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s May 15th:

Saturday 15th May 2004

On this day in 2004, the 49th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Istanbul, Turkey. Ukraine took victory with Ruslana performing “Wild Dances” and 280 points.

Saturday 15th May 1993

On this day in 1993, the 38th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Millstreet, Ireland. Ireland took victory with Niamh Kavanagh performing “In Your Eyes” and 187 points.
