Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, have announced commentary details, for the forthcoming 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel.
Due to budget constraints, Yle have revealed that their entire commentary team for 2025 will be based in Helsinki. Anssi Autio, Head of Delegation for Finland, had the following to say:
“You can’t afford everything. If prices rise and we don’t have as much money, the decision is quite simple. Everyone probably understands that commentary requires technical equipment and a commentary booth. It will be quite a large sum of money.
Reports have been done from Pasila before. We’ll see how this year goes. Of course, we believe that the reactions will be conveyed from there in other ways than just being there.”
Yle will provide commentary in six different languages. The commentary team are:
- Mikko Silvennoinen (Finnish)
- Eva Frantz and Johan Lindroos (Swedish)
- Levan Tvaltvadze (Russian)
- Heli Huovinen (Inari Sámi)
- Aslak Paltto (Northern Sámi)
- Galyna Sergeyeva (Ukrainian)
