
Radio Liechtenstein, the Liechtenstein national broadcaster, have ceased broadcasting – therefore Liechtenstein’s current hope of broadcasting or participating at the Eurovision Song Contest has come to an end.
FOLLOWING their participation plans been placed on hold, a public vote chose to see the Liechtenstein government privatise Radio Liechtenstein. On Tuesday 1st April, the government confirmed that after there were no concrete interest from private investors, Radio Liechtenstein would cease broadcasting on Thursday 3rd April.
Radio Liechtenstein had received around 70% of public media funding from the government on an annual basis – this equated to 4,000,000 CHF.
