Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s March 15th:

Saturday 15th March 2008

On this day in 2008, the 48th edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. Charlotte Perrelli took victory with “Hero” and 224 points. At the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Charlotte finished 18th, with 47 points.

Saturday 15th March 2003

On this day in 2003, the 43rd edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. Fame took victory with “Give Me Your Love” and 240 points. At the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest in Riga, Fame finished 5th, with 107 points.
